To support the efforts of disabled people to realise their full potential in all areas of life.

Disability Shetland's aims and objectives are as follows:-

By participating in a means of consultation and joint action among voluntary and statutory organisations concerned with the welfare of physically and mentally disabled people of all ages.

By increasing understanding of the problems of disability and by encouraging integration in its fullest sense between disabled and non-disabled members of the community.

By promoting, providing and encouraging the development of services and facilities for people with disabilities, including a barrier-free environment.
